In the context of InnoBueGrowth-INTERREG MED Project, the third “MED Blue Growth Transnational Capitalization & Community Building Event”, organized by the Greek partner NTUA with the contribution of the modular project PROTeuS, took place in Athens on last 20 – 21 of June.
The event – of two days – focused on the main challenges in the field of Maritime Surveillance which, as pointed out by the Director Annibale Cutrona in his final speech, represents a cross-cutting theme to the activities carried out in the Mediterranean (Maritime transport, Fishing, Pollution, Migration, etc.). The use of advanced technology can be an element of further innovation and creation of new professional skills and jobs. It has also emerged that coordination of maritime surveillance activities is difficult, in some cases also at the national level and even more at international level, especially considering the countries of the southern shores of the Mediterranean.
Another topic addressed was the Clusters, a tool closely associated with the construction of the Communities and indispensable for the capitalization of the results of modular projects. All the aspects were analyzed and the positive factors that led to a common growth with a collaborative and non-competitive approach were highlighted.
On the occasion of the third “MED Blue Growth Transnational Capitalization & Community Building Event”, Caterina Praticò, project manager, recalled the upcoming IBG events. The mid term conference in Barcelona will be particularly important, on the 22nd and 23rd of November, to which all the modular projects will be required to take stock of the situation and set up the work until the end of the project in October 2019 in Brussels.
The occasion was propitious to inform the participants of the “Blue Energy” community that CoNISMa is among the organizers of the “13th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC)” that will be held in Naples from 1 to 6 September 2019. At the event PELAGOS and MAESTRALE modular projects will be present.
