The 3rd Marine Board Forum <http://www.esf.org/marineboard/3rdforum> is
designed to examine emerging or future “Blue Technologies”. In this case,
blue technologies are those technologies which will either be used in, or
drawn from, the seas and oceans and which should have the potential to make
a step-changing contribution to science and society.
The Forum will address the following questions:
* What blue technologies can we expect in the future?
* What impacts might they have on science and/or society? and
* What support is necessary to fast-track their development?
The Forum will be visionary in its approach and will feature keynote
presentations, case studies, flash presentations and an open floor
discussion. The event is designed to showcase and discuss developing or
future technologies which may have a significant scientific or societal
impact.
Who should attend the Forum?
European and national policymakers, advisors and programme managers,
scientists, and representatives from industry and NGOs.
