We are here sharing two current opportunities from the MPA4Change project, which is under the umbrella of our Interreg Euro Med – Natural Heritage Mission, and which may interest you or relevant contacts within your network.
🌊 Training Programme on Climate Change Adaptation in Marine Protected Areas
MPA4Change has just launched a new training programme designed to strengthen the capacities of MPA managers and marine conservation experts in adapting to climate change and enhancing ecosystem resilience.
The training will cover:
- Protocols to assess climate change impacts on marine ecosystems (including citizen science initiatives)
- Methodologies for evaluating vulnerability in MPAs
- Participatory processes for designing climate adaptation plans
The format of the training:
- Hybrid: online modules followed by a face-to-face workshop (limited places)
- Online only: access to all e-learning modules

📢 The project is also seeking to contract an experienced consultant or consultancy to support policy and advocacy activities related to climate change adaptation in MPAs.
The selected expert/consultancy should:
- Have solid knowledge of marine conservation and climate adaptation policies at the Mediterranean, EU, and global levels
- Engage with policymakers and stakeholders to support policy change
- Represent the project at key events and facilitate relevant sessions
- Contribute to building alliances across relevant networks
