Project Sector-Specific Adaptive Virtual Early Warning System for Marine Pollution
Objectives

The SEAVIEWS project aims to promote and strengthen the capacity of transnational collaborations focused on addressing environmental vulnerability, fragmentation, and the preservation of ecosystem services in the broader Adriatic region, bringing together stakeholders from six partner countries (Greece, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, and Slovenia). The SEAVIEWS project will develop a transnational network of data repositories to collect, store, and analyze data on marine water quality in the region using a network of smart sensors positioned at strategic locations, and will support the creation of digital laboratories to serve as channels for disseminating information, data analyses, and research findings to the general public.

In addition, SEAVIEWS will aim to strengthen marine environmental protection at the regional level by implementing tools such as the use of big data to enhance marine environmental protection through the revision of national and regional strategies.
